When I ate this dish, I realised how much I missed my mum’s cooking.
As usually, mum never measured her cooking ingredients but I suppose it’s easy enough to measure as you can see the picture. This type of dish is very famous in my hometown, everybody loves it 🙂 Serve with steam rice and oh la la…..so yummy. Unfortunately I have not found smoked tuna (pindang tongkol) like this in Perth, but one of my cousin Peni told me that I can make it at home by smoke the tuna in a bbq and then steam them. Hmmm…I think it’s definitely worth to try.

Ingredients:
-2 medium size smoked tuna (ikan tongkol), cut into 3 part each
-1 medium size capsicum, any colour, sliced
-1 brown onion, peel, thinly sliced
-5 small size kafir lime leaf
-3 small red tomatoes, chopped
-3 cm fresh turmeric or 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
-7 clove garlic, peel
-5 chilli padi (optional)
-14 small asian shallot or 3 big french onion, peel
-2 cups light coconut milk
-10 petai bean (optional)
-Salt
