The first time we went to this Chinese restaurant it was jammed packed. By the time we got there about 20 people were queuing, waiting to get a table. I went to the cashier and asked how long do we have to wait and the owner advised probably about 45 minutes. Wow……the only thing I can think of is that the food including dim sum in this restaurant must be as good as my colleague recommendation, Calvin.
Nearly an hour waiting later, finally we’ve got our table. Feeling absolutely starving we took those four dishes to share, for start 🙂 . As you can see, we love chicken feet, pork buns, pork ribs and hakaw. Trust me, it won’t take long for us to finish them.
The food trolley passed our table once more and we grabbed this salt and pepper squid. I loved this dish but unfortunately not from the restaurant. The batter is too thick and tasteless, I couldn’t taste the pepper and only a few chopped chili’s and spring onion in it, no light fried garlic either so it is boring to me. I prefer the one from Dragon Palace Restaurant in Northbridge these are tasty.
The siomay is very nice and soft. sometimes it can be tough and dry, but this one is nothing like that at all. I love it !
Oh, I never know the exact name for this dish but what it is is steamed sticky rice filled with pork wrapped in lotus leaf. Very nice.
Comes to dessert we are rather full but my eyes are still hungry so we ordered this deep fried sticky rice filled with sweet beans.
And a must have desert, Egg tart !!!
Over all we are happy with the food. For all of those dishes, plus jasmine tea and two Asahi beer cost us about AUD $75.00. The only thing is that the restaurant seems like overrated. In my opinion, the food isn’t that different with other Dim Sum places in Perth, not many food trolleys around so we had to wait sometimes in between meals though it’s probably because that day was the first day they are open after they were closed for Chinese New Year holiday. The owner also came to our table to make sure if everything is ok as it’s our first time visit, well that’s very nice.
Is it worth waiting for 45 minutes? Not for me. I can go to other nice Dim Sum place in town, although I will probably go back there in the future to try other meals. Hopefully on a less busy day.
