My Organic Garden October 2013

Sooooooo loving my organic garden this time of year. My strawberry plants fruiting, first round roses bloom, grape vine looking healthy, basil, potatoes, beetroot, tomatoes, avocado, apple and nectarine start fruiting too. This is the third year since I bought my avocado and nectarine tree from nursery and I can see little fruit on them, I’m so excited. Last year they were flowering but never form to fruit, too young I guess.

Most of my fruit tree are dwarf type, easier for me to pick the fruit and also we don’t have enough space  😉

My first avocado !!!!

This avocado tree below was planted from a seed in 2012. We went to Kalamunda helping good friends of ours to check on their cats and saw a fruit stool with “for sale” sign on the way home so we stopped. I never seen avocado that big before, it’s round and just big. We bought 3 of them and cost us $6 each, yes little bit pricey but I can tell you that it was the best avocado I’ve ever had. So creamy, got yellow-ish colour near the seed part and green colour closer to the skin.  So yumm…!!!! Let’s see how many years I have to wait to have my own big, round, creamy avocado <3
