Gado Gado Recipe.

This gado gado recipe is close to the authentic one. The difference is that the original recipe using mortar to ground the sauce. Oh, makes me want to go home 🙂 You can replace the veggies to any of your favourite.

 

Gado Gado Recipe

Serves: 4
Ingredients:
  • 3 eggs, boil until it cooked
  • 2 potatoes
  • 1 bunch of water spinach/kailan
  • 1 tofu, diced
  • 150 gr bean sprout
  • ¼ of small cabbage
  • 150 gr long bean/green bean
  • plain rice crackers
Peanut Sauce:
  • 200 gr raw peanut/I recommended to use unsalted roasted peanut
  • 4 garlic, crushed
  • 2 chilli padi, slice
  • (use 1 of egg yolk out of the 3 cooked egg above)
  • 2 tbs brown sugar
  • hot water
  • salt
Cooking Instructions:
  1. Fry the peanut until it cook/not over cook, (or if you got roasted peanut no need to fry them), put them into grounder/food processor .
  2. Sautee garlic and chilli, add into the grounder/foor processor with peanut.
  3. Add cooked egg yolk, sugar and salt
  4. Ground all ingredients until they smooth, transfer into small pot, add hot water, mix, turn on the stove, bring the sauce to boil, stir well until the sauce is thick.
  5. Taste, add what ever you need to add, more gugar, salt or chilli, the sauce is done. Turn off the stove.
  6. Steam all vegies/beans and potatoes.
  7. Fried the tofu.
  8. Your gado-gado is ready to serve.
